Seeking Dreams……Chapter Seventy-Four

A few hours later Gabrielle is suddenly awoken by a strange engine sound.

“What the hell was that?!” Jared says now turning on the light.

“I don’t know, grab the gun” Gabrielle says now getting up and then grabbing her robe and then running down the stairs.

“Gab! Gabrielle! Get back here!” Jared yells after her.

Gabrielle then goes into the closet by the front door and then pulls out a bat.

She then tares opens the door with the bat at hand and then she storms out.

She searches franticly for a moment, looking for any sign of the noise.

She knows what it was through, who it was.

She can almost sense it.

“Gabrielle!” Jared’s voice calls from behind her then.

Jared then comes running out and then he runs over to Gabrielle, who unknowingly, is in them middle of the street.

“What the hell are you doing?! Come here” Jared then says now taking her hand and then dragging her back into the house.

“What’s the matter with you?” Jared then says now sitting Gabrielle on the sofa while taking the bat from her.

“I was looking for the noise” Gabrielle then says in a small voice.

“Armed with a baseball bat while standing in the middle of the street” Jared says looking at her.

Gabrielle just shrugs her shoulders at that.

“Honey, we just moved in here, lets not make the neighbors think we’re crazy already, hum? Give it about a year” Jared says now getting up and then putting the bat away.

“I just….I donno, I don’t know what I was thinking” Gabrielle says now holding her head in her hands.

“ Look, you have to get a grip” Jared says now rapping his arms around her.

“I know. But you tell me what else could have made that noise”

“Well if you didn’t blow out of the room, I was going to tell you that I think it was the guy that lives two doors down from us. He has an old truck that backs up sometimes, and he does go to work this time of the morning”

Gabrielle shakes her head.

“I’m going to bed!” she then says now getting up and storming up the stairs.

Jared just sighs and then, making sure the front doors locked, fallows suit.
