Lady Gaga To Get the Comics Treatment

Rah Rah Ah-Ah-Ah Roma Roma Mah, Gaga Oh La La Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na BATMAN!

Yeah, I know, that’s a terrible mashup. But it’s semi-fitting seeing as how Lady Gaga will soon have one more thing in common with the Dark Knight: she’s set to appear in a comic.

Gaga will be featured in a comic to be made available as one of the titles for Free Comic Book Day 2010 (May 1st). Free Comic Book Day has been held on the first Saturday in May since 2002, and offers fans a chance to pick up free issues of comics from major and lesser known publishers alike. It’s also a great way to get started in comics if you’ve been meaning to, and an awesome excuse to duck into a comic shop for the first time if you’re otherwise nervous about it. Many stores also hold signings by local comic authors, artists and creators.

Sadly, Gaga’s comic will NOT feature her fighting alien hordes or mutants or vampires. Rather, it’s set to be the first title in the Fame line from Bluewater Comics who also publish the Female Force and Political Power titles, both of which are biographical stories about different persons of interest each month. The Fame line will be no different, and fittingly the woman who recently wrote the book…er, album…on fame (as well as The Fame Monster), will be their Free Comic Book Day offering this year. The Fame line will go on to include “culturally relevant celebrities and other pop culture icons.” Already on the short list are names such as RPatz, 50 Cent, David Beckham and Taylor Swift.

Want to score a copy of the Gaga title as well as some other great comics? Then head to the official Free Comic Book Day site for more information. And if you’re not sure if there’s a comic shop in your area? Check out Comic Shop Locator.com!
