Community Discussion: Ounceofwentz Needs More Culture
If you have yet to see Ounceofwentz’s most excellent and latest photo, you are missing out on a rather unique sight that is slowly going the way of the Passenger Pigeon. Slowly but surely, the old is replaced with the new and the coming and going of days gone by is imminent….
At the end of Ounceofwentz’s photo post, an interesting statement is made: “I need more culture in my life.”
If you read some of the comments on the post, you will note the disdain for modern locomotives. Much of this can be applied to the sentiments of our new technological age. It seems our technology is built to simply do what it is intended to do, without all the style and grace of the past. As technology progresses, it seems that the ideals and beauty of yesterday is often moved into a place of reverence and deemed to be “culture.”
My questions are simple: What is “culture” and how do you define it?
