Rihanna's "Umbrella" is a catchy but plaintive sing-along tune dedicated to girl-meets-boy giddiness. How catchy? So catchy that artists as diverse as Gerard Way and Mandy Moore have released versions that must be described as tributes. Rihanna, and her top tune, will forever be remembered as a prime delight of MTV's 2007 VMA show.
