There's a saying that "cooking is an art, but baking is a science," and as a passionate home baker, I totally agree. Some cakes are made so perfectly they look more like art pieces than something you’d want to eat.

But for every stunning cake masterpiece, there’s one that looks like it was decorated by someone who was either blindfolded or slightly tipsy. Sometimes, it’s just wiser to leave the decorating to the pros.

Most girls probably recall playing with Barbie dolls during childhood, only to trade them for bottles of alcohol as they grow up.

This baker decided to celebrate that shift with a friend's birthday cake. If a Barbie doll looking like she's had too much, paired with a bottle of Fireball, doesn’t make an impression, nothing will.

Unfortunately, sometimes DIY cakes backfire spectacularly, and in this case, the saying “it’s the thought that counts” definitely applies.
