Just as quickly as they started, things fell apart for pop star Demi Lovato and her now-ex, Max Ehrich. Their relationship was made public in March 2020 when they shared that they were self-quarantining together at Lovato's home in Los Angeles. Just two months later, the couple announced that they were engaged.

Ehrich, a 28-year-old actor and musical artist, proposed to Lovato on the beach in Malibu two months later with a diamond ring that's estimated to be worth $1 million. Lovato's friends expressed their concern, but she was head-over-heels in love with him. She shared on Instagram, "I feel unconditionally loved and accepted by you in a way that I've never felt before."

But just two months after that, Lovato announced their split. Even worse, it appears that Ehrich found out about their breakup through the tabloids-- Lovato didn't break up with him herself. Ehrich shared on Instagram, "Imagine finding out the status of your relationship through a tabloid."

Fans of Lovato openly shared their opinions of Ehrich and the breakup on social media. After a few days of it, Ehrich told them to back off. "I am not interested in attention," he shared. "Please leave me be and let me focus on my film!!!!" In another post on his Instagram story, Ehrich demanded, "Please stop trying to thank you, next... Me." However, a source close to Lovato argues that the artist did break up with Ehrich before announcing to the tabloids.
