My Chemical Romance Tour Blogger 2011

I first became a My Chemical Romance fan back in 2004 when I first saw the music video for the single, “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”. The video in itself is pretty spectacular (and to this day still one of my favorites) but the thing that caught my attention was the intensity of the vocals in the song. The chorus was sung with intent and an intensity that I had not heard in a long time.

I quickly reached out to a friend that I knew had their albums and, yes — they would not be happy to hear this, but I burnt myself a copy of ‘Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge” and “I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love”. I think I rotated the two albums in my car CD player for the next month.I was pleased to find the intent in the writing and the vocals did not end with ‘I’m Not Okay’. Both albums were very honest and became songs that I created memories around.

Lucky for me MCR was touring with another band I loved, Alkaline Trio and they were coming to my university for a show. I quickly bought tickets and convinced a few of my friends to join me. We had the best time and they were instantly fans of MCR and I remember many details of that show back in 2005. I have not seen them since but have continued to follow their music, but nothing compares to seeing them live. I think I should be the official tour blogger for the Anaheim show because admire their raw talent and unique approach to music. I would love to be chosen to be the official blogger! Vote for Sara! Thanks!
