Question of the Day: What Do You Need Something New Of?

Is the sentence for the QOTD grammatically correct? What I mean to say is something like this: Let’s say that you have something that is starting to become all worn out. If you could replace it with the same thing, just a newer version of it, what would it be? Does that make sense? Like, for me, I would say that need some new shoes. Oh and some new shirts. Probably some new shorts and socks as well.
