Happy National Poetry Day!

Apparently, here in the United States it is National Poetry Day. This is very cool.

I absolutely love poetry, both reading and writing it. It’s part of why I love music as well, because lyrics can and often are poetry in their own right. But sometimes nothing beats the old stuff.

So, in honor of National Poetry Day, a few of my favorites:

In the spirit of the Halloween season, The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.

Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night by Dylan Thomas.

She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron.

The Danger of Writing Defiant Verse by Dorothy Parker.

I’d like to speak of poetry

that which is and was

and hope to start a dialog

here on the Net of Buzz.

So tell me now, dear reader

of who’s pages you turn in glee

or sorrow or pain or any way

give some suggestions to me!
