Chasing Shadows……Chapter Thirty-Three
About five hours later they’re on an open highway.
“We should be at our first stop in a day” Tomo says to the girls as they all set in the back of the bus watching tv.
“Cool, so we’re gonna still be in the state?” Emily says.
“Yeah, then we’re gonna be in two states over on Wednesday” Shannon says.
“Awesome! Can’t wait for that!” Emily says.
While they sit and talk and watch tv, Gabrielle gets bored and gets up to sit by the window in the kitchen area.
“What’s up?” Jared asks her fallowing her.
“Nothing, just, really bored” Gabrielle says now sitting down
Jared laughs at that and then sits down across from her.
“Yeah, it gets this way a lot. You could go nuts here in a day” Jared then says.
“Oh, so that’s what happened to you guys?” Gabrielle says smiling.
“Yeah, just couldn’t take it anymore, just went stark crazy” Jared says laughing again.
“You just have to find something to do and then fix yourself on it till you can get off” Jared then says.
“And that wont be till tomorrow” Gabrielle mutters now resting her head on the table.
“Well, you can watch tv” Jared suggests.
“Nah, not much into tv really” Gabrielle says.
“Oh, well you could read, or, stuff” Jared says.
“Yeah, I did bring a lot of books with me” Gabrielle says.
“Good, just fix yourself on reading them, and you’ll be fine”
Jared then says smiling.
“So what about Emily? Is she gonna be ok with this?” he then asks.
“Ha, just put her in front of a tv and have Shannon with her, she’ll be set for life” Gabrielle says laughing.
“Haha, wow. She must really like tv and Shan” Jared says laughing as well.
“You have no idea, wont shut up about both of them” Gabrielle says.
“Oh must be fun” Jared says.
“Yeah, then again I drive her nuts with talking about the latest book and I read and you” Gabrielle says.
Then she puts her head down and turns red, not believing she just said that.
Jared meanwhile is a little shocked, but thinks it’s sweet.
“So she pisses you off about one guy, and you get her back with his brother” Jared says smiling.
“Ha, yeah, guess so…I’m sorry” Gabrielle says.
“For what? I think it’s funny and sweet. And to tell you a secret, I think I piss of the guys sometimes when I wont shut up about you” Jared says.
Gabrielle’s head then snaps up.
“Really?” she says.
“Yep” Jared reply’s smiling.
Gabrielle smiles back at him, and then the two sit in silence for about a minute or so, when Jared suddenly says, “So do you know how to play guitar?”
“Not a clue” Gabrielle says.
“Wanna learn? It’ll kill the boredom for the time being” Jared says now getting up and going over to his guitar case.
“Sure” Gabriele says smiling.
“Cool, I’ll lend you Tomo’s while I’ll play mine, so that way it’ll be much easier to copy me” Jared says smiling back at her.
