Design a Logo For Very Much Alive 2009

So, it’s been almost a year since I started Very Much Alive, and in that year I’ve seen a huge outpouring of support and participating from those involved. It’s been fantastic to see all of you express yourselves in photos, writing, videos and more and I’m glad that so many of you found something good in a little thing I started for myself.

And now, I’m pleased to announce, that this year I’m trying to start another VMA tradition. See, the photo I have that I tend to use for Very Much Alive is of Gerard Way. And as I’ve said before, while that’s where the idea came from, I don’t want Very Much Alive to be thought of as a My Chemical Romance thing. Because it doesn’t matter if you like MCR, dislike them or are totally ambivalent to them, Very Much Alive is about something entirely different. So I’d love to have a different logo to use for the group and any journals or links I might post pertaining to Very Much Alive.

While I probably could have gone to any of the talented people on Buzznet and asked for help in the design, I know there are talented people out there that I don’t know well enough or might not know of at all who might want to participate. So, I’m OFFICIALLY announcing the first ever Very Much Alive Logo Contest.

The Grand Prize Winner will see their logo used on all Very Much Alive related materials until the end of 2009. The logo will also serve as the group’s icon for the entirety of 2009 and will be featured in a special post on Very Much Alive Day 2009 (February 26th, 2009).

Four Runners Up will see their work showcased in a special post on Buzznet.com on Very Much Alive Day 2009 (February 26th, 2009).

To Enter:

  • Entry period runs from the posting of this blog until midnight Pacific Time on February 15th.
  • All entries must contain the words “Very Much Alive” and in some way feature the year (2009, obviously)
  • Entries should be posted to the Very Much Alive group in the “Logo Contest 2009” collection and should be tagged with vmalogo2009.
  • A panel of judges (still to be named) will select the top 5 entries, which will then be put up to a vote on Buzznet.com. Voting will run from February 16th until midnight Pacific Time on February 22nd.
  • The Grand Prize winner will be announced on Very Much Alive Day 2009 (February 26th, 2009).
  • Multiple entries ARE allowed (I’m not going to stifle your creativity!) but only one of them will be eligible for the final vote on Buzznet.com.

All I ask is that we all keep this friendly and look at it as a celebration of all of the talented people on Buzznet. If drama emerges, I reserve the right to end the competition at any time. This is not about drama, this is about being Very Much Alive.
