After winning a Scottish BAFTA for Best Acting Performance for her role in New Town, Rose Leslie quickly rose to fame, landing the role of Gwen Dawson, a housemaid, in the ITV drama series Downton Abbey. During the show, she also appeared in two episodes of the British drama Case Histories.

Not long after, in 2011, she landed her most recognizable role as Ygritte in HBO's Game of Thrones. Even though she left the show in 2014, Leslie stayed in touch with co-star Kit Harrington. The two were married in June 2018!
