These Celebrities Went Through Dramatic Transformations In The Past Ten Years

A lot can happen in ten plus years, especially when it comes to the appearances of a celebrity. With money to spare, these stars have gone through dramatic transformations. Have it be a new hairstyle, face work, or a hardcore gym regiment; these celebrities have done a full 180 to their looks.

With Zac Efron going from boy-next-door to bleached hair and T-Swift going from country girl to edgy pop-star, there's no telling who had a major glow-up and who should have stuck with their old look.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron went from that guy most girls wanted to date in high school to being Ted Bundy. We're not sure about you, but when we thought about what the actor would look like in 2019, it wasn't bleached hair and sunken cheeks on the red carpet promoting his movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

Thankfully, he opted to go back to his original brown locks and filled out his face a bit more for his new Netflix series Down to Earth with Zac Efron.

2010 was the year of red hair for the Barbadian singer Rhianna. It was also the year the Grammy Award-winning artist released her fifth studio album, Loud. Honestly, we'd dye our hair bright red, too, if we were one of the highest-selling artists in the entire world!

Now, ten years later, the singer is sporting one or ten new tattoos, including her infamous Egyptian goddess Isis ink, a tribute to her late grandmother. Pretty much, she went from edgy to edgier.

Ten years ago, Academy Award-nominee Keira Knightley was coming off the high of being one of the most recognized faces in the world with her role as Elizabeth Swan in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Due to the worldwide recognition that came with the role, people witnessed Knightley go from a young girl to strutting her stuff on the red carpet as a world-class actress -- goodbye mom haircut and hello frame job!

It's hard to imagine a time where Katy Perry wasn't a famous pop star, strutting around in outlandish outfits. But it was only a little over ten years ago, in 2008, when her first major album, One of the Boys, dropped.

Since then, Katy went from a brunette beauty who looked more suited to be on the cover of a 1950s pin-up magazine, to an edgy, blonde mother-to-be whose favorite accessory is Orlando Bloom.

It's strange to think that it was almost ten years ago that Lionsgate announced their casting choice of Josh Hutcherson for the role of Peeta Mellark in the Hunger Games franchise. The role had him sporting bleached shaggy hair and 15 extra pounds.

Ten years and a few leading roles later, we're not going to lie; he looks weighed down. And the trucker-inspired facial hair is not helping. At least he went back to his natural brown locks, though.

Right after the final scene of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II wrapped up, Emma Watson went ahead and chopped off her hair. Per the actress's contract, she wasn't allowed to do anything to her hair while filming. So, who could blame her for going full-on pixie?

Even though she looks fierce with a pixie haircut, Watson opted to grow her hair back out through the years. Oh, and she is also rocking her natural brows, which we are totally here for!

Joe Jonas of the Jo-Bros, someone really should have told you that the straightened skater boy hair wasn't a good look. Even though it was technically the look of the early 2000s, we think he should have stuck with his natural curls.

The good news is that he grew up and chopped those locks to look more his age. We're quite a sucker for his new grown-up look. And, just in time for him to become a new father, too!

Oh, Miley, Miley, Miley. This singer and actress probably had one of the most dramatic transformations in the past ten years. In 2010, she began to shed her Disney Channel image for something a bit edgier -- the Can't Be Tamed bird music video, anyone?

Ten years later, she took that edge and went full-fledged rocker who favors leather pants over ruffled white tops. Oh, and she's sporting a few more tattoos than she did during her DC days.

Let's just start with the obvious, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson used to have hair and scruff. Okay, now that the elephant in the room is out in the open, we can move on! In the past decade or so, The Rock went from being that guy in blockbuster flops to a mega-star.

But let's focus on his physical changes for right now. Can you say muscles? Of course, The Rock has always been fit, but we don't remember him almost busting through shirt seams in 2008!

British actor Benedict Cumberbatch came on the scene in 2010 when he landed the title character role on BBC's Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately, his appearance on the show didn't translate over to his red carpet appearance.

No one ever let that man near a straightener ever again! But after ten years in the industry and a few blockbuster films later, Benedict Cumberbatch traded in his bowl-cut look to an "I'm going to stick with my natural curls and go for a nice trim." Oh, and Scarf = mandatory.

If we're talking ten-year challenge, no one deserves a round of applause more than Ms. Demi Lovato. Not only did she go through a roller coaster over the past decade, but she came out stronger, and if it's even possible, more beautiful.

While this photo is of her at the last Super Bowl, she doesn't look all that different. Of course, she's not nearly as dolled up during her typical day-to-day, but she is still all smiles on her Instagram account!

Sorry, but there's no reason not to group the Sprouse twins together when talking about major glow-ups, especially when it comes to Disney Channel stars. Somehow, these two made it out of that network without too much emotional turmoil.

And, it shows. These two had a huge transformation over the years, growing out their hair, dying it, and losing that baby fat that made them endearing during their time on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Well done, boys!

A decade back, John Legend dropped a collaborative album with the hip-hop band The Roots called Wake Up! And, we're not sure about you guys, but we forgot this was also the same year the singer/songwriter decided to see what would happen if he grew facial hair.

Granted, he looks a bit older, but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate a clean-shaved John Legend or a bit of scruff! Ten years, multiple awards, a wife, and two babies later, it looks like he's opted to shave.

Beyoncé pretty much went from Princess B to Queen B in ten years. In 2010, she was rocking some soft blonde hair with big barrel curls. And while it's not an unusual color for the singer, she went full 180 for the Lion King premiere ten years later.

We're talking black, braided hair, blinged-out accessories, and its hard to miss the bedazzled black and white jacket. The look is a total mood that says, "yes, I am Queen of the jungle."

Ten years ago is the last time singer/songwriter Taylor Swift looked like the girl next door. She still had her long golden locks, sometimes wearing them in her signature curls, and she was just starting to wear darker eye makeup.

Well, after the turn of the decade and the release of her third studio album, Speak Up, Swift went from a cute girl playing her acoustic guitar and singing about prince charming to a pop diva with a bob wearing bedazzled outfits.

We're just throwing this out there, Khloe Kardashian had a case of "oh, I need to change my image via money" in the past ten years. In 2010, the now 36-year-old Kardashian was sporting some long brown hair, wasn't really in the best shape, and was rocking her natural face.

Now, ten years later, Khloe sprinkled in some face work, and she's rocking a new hair-style and color, and she definitely got motivated to get in shape!

Okay, we see you with the ten-year glow-up Brie Larson. But before she began to look like Hollywood royalty, this actress didn't really look like she knew what she was doing when it came to personal style.

Considering Larson only landed a few supporting roles in 2010, we'd bet she dressed herself for this appearance. Fast-forward ten years, and this beauty is an Academy Award-winning actress who is absolutely slaying the slicked-back hair and dazzling gown.

Sorry to make you feel old, Harry Potter fans, but it's been ten years since Daniel Radcliffe has graced the silver screen as The Boy Who Lived. During that time, Radcliffe was slowly but surely growing into himself, sporting shaggy brown hair, and starting to lose his glasses in favor of contacts.

Needless to say, he's changed quite a bit since. Primarily, it looks like he made his way to a salon, getting rid of the skater boy hair and opting for what looks like a "big boy" haircut.

In 2010, Justin Bieber released the music video Baby to the world, along with his "I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be a bowl cut or not" hairstyle. Then, somehow, ten years went by, and he's married, hardly making music, and pretty much taking a break from the spotlight.

But that doesn't mean we don't have some photo evidence on what he looks like. We're not sure how his wife feels about it, but, personally, we could do without the weird mustache and silver hair thing he's got going on.

Honestly, we're fairly certain Jennifer Lopez doesn't age, she just changes up her hair and clothing and calls it a day. Like this ten-year glow-up, for example. If we didn't know any better, we'd think she literally just opted for a shorter hairstyle the day after her long-hair red carpet appearance.

Pretty much, the Latina beauty is total goals when it comes to style, fitness, and family. JLo, keep doing what you're doing you talented human being.
