You may primarily know Geoffrey Zakarian as a judge on Chopped, but he’s actually on four Food Network shows and is an acclaimed restaurateur. It seems that being famous didn’t help him with his finances, as he filed for bankruptcy in 2011 after his former employees at his now-closed restaurant Country sued him.

Apparently, Zakarian had shorted his staff on overtime pay, faked pay records, and docked paychecks. The employees demanded $1 million in damages and an extra $250,000 in penalties. Although he denied the allegations, fighting the lawsuit drove him to the point of bankruptcy.
