Leonardo DiCaprio Wouldn’t Have Done ‘Titanic’ Without Paul Rudd

There's a point in every actor's career that changes them from average to legendary status. For Leonardo DiCaprio, the film that changed everything for him was James Cameron's Titanic. It shot him to stardom and he's since become one of Hollywood's biggest actors. Well, Paul Rudd has just revealed that DiCaprio wasn't sure about taking the iconic role of Jack Dawson.

DiCaprio and Rudd were both in the 1996 film Romeo + Juliet, playing Romeo and Count Paris respectively. While filming, DiCaprio told Rudd about an offer he had received to star in Titanic.

"He said, 'It's a studio movie. It's Titanic. And I said, 'That's incredible,'" said Rudd on The Graham Norton Show.

Rudd revealed that DiCaprio hadn't fully made up his mind about whether or not he was going to take the role.

"Leo said, 'Well, I don't know what I'll do,' and I said 'Well you should do it.,'" said Rudd. Thank goodness for Paul Rudd because we couldn't imagine anyone else playing the iconic role opposite Kate Winslet. Rudd helped create the mega Hollywood star we know and love today.
