Apple TV Plus Films Could Be Coming To National Movie Theaters

Apple's new streaming service, Apple TV Plus, is set to be released on November 1st. The platform is their answer to Netflix and Amazon, as they'll start releasing original content. According to reports, the tech company is considering releasing the original content using a traditional theatrical release plan.

According to the reported plan, the original films produced by Apple would be released in theaters for 12 weeks before the release date on the streaming platform. This decision may give Apple the upper hand with attracting talent to their studios against competitors like Netflix.

Netflix typically limits their theatrical releases to 21 days, which prevents them from playing in major national chains, like AMC, which many filmmakers prefer. Apple is set to test this wider theatrical release plan in 2020 with Sofia Coppola's On The Rocks.

If you were hesitant about subscribing to Apple TV Plus but didn't want to miss the major films, it looks like this could be a workaround for you!
