Celebrities Who Have Surprising Part-Time Jobs

Everybody's got a part-time job these days — it's how we can afford the luxuries of having a roof over our heads and eating a decent meal that's not 80-cent ramen noodles. But you might be surprised to know that even celebrities have moonlighted.

We're not talking about Reese Witherspoon's "side gig" of owning a production company. We're talking about jobs that you or I could be doing right now, but that Marilyn Manson and Bill Murray do in their spare time. From saving the bees to hosting at restaurants, these celebrities are just like us!

Tom Selleck, known for his role on Magnum P.I. as the private investigator with the sense of justice and facial hair that just won't quit, is also an avocado farmer. You read that correctly. This career transition makes sense though— crime never sleeps and neither do the delicate agricultural needs of his ripening crops.

Selleck began growing every hipster's favorite fruit because he liked the exercise and time outdoors it gave him. His business is profitable and he's known for trash-talking rival avocado farmer Jamie Foxx about his fruit quality.

Listen, we all have mixed feelings about our landlords. They're never there when you need them, they can never get the pipes fixed on time, and they never text us when they're coming over. But imagine having Rupert Grint as your landlord...it would be magical.

Grint has traded in his wand for a lease and has become a hugely popular landlord in the Uk owning a company that's got a property portfolio of £12 million — that's $14 million USD. It's probably safe to say he listens to your tenant concerns.

Since 2015 when Flea decided to join the noble quest to save the bees, he's gathered 3 hives that take care of 200,000 bees. Even though we know that Hollywood sells Californication, Flea definitely sells us on his apiary skills.

That includes a $100,000 bottle of water that he and Diplo tasted. Why did it cost so much? It had diamonds on the lid. If it's covered in gold foil, diamonds, or truffle oil then 2Chainz will try it.

During Bob Dylan's 1975 "Rolling Thunder Revue" tour he had a bunch of special guests and rock legends make appearances — that includes Joni Mitchell and Joan Baez just to name two. But even the crew was star-studded since nationally celebrated and award-winning Beats poet Allen Ginsburg rolled up his sleeves to be a roadie.

Reportedly they couldn't find time for Ginsburg to perform even a minute of his poetry on the tour, so he offered to help out anyway. You can learn more about it watching Martin Scorsese's' Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story.

Nothing against cobblers — they're part of a storied and booming industry. But Daniel Day-Lewis working as a cobbler's apprentice? After 1997's The Boxer, Day-Lewis took a little break from acting to apprentice under famed and respected Italian Cobbler Stefano Bemer who designs and makes custom shoes for his line Bespoke.

So this isn't technically a part-time job, but it's definitely a niche and probably bad financial decision so we're putting it on the list. Back in 2011, far after Myspace's glory days from 2006-2008, Justin Timberlake purchased the aging social network site jointly for $35 million.

Since then, MySpace has been sold again to Time Inc in 2016 as scrap in an ad tech deal, so it's safe to say Timberlake may have made a bad investment. Wouldn't it have been great to work there and see Timberlake in breakroom getting coffee? Bye bye bye, MySpace.

You know Marilyn Manson? The "Antichrist Superstar." The one who plunged a beer bottle into his chest onstage among other notable things? Well, he's like the rest of us and needs balance in his life. While he was famous and making tabloid news every day for his antics he was also doing watercolor paintings.

The paintings are pretty much what you'd imagine from Manson — still figures, blood, and nudity. But they're done with a steady head and showcase the skills and color theory Manson has cultivated over the years. Back in 2007, one even sold for $105,000.

Murray is a huge Cubs fan, so he funneled his passion for baseball into helping build the RiverDogs. He's even tried to bribe the refs as a joke at one of their games. I think all of us would've taken it.

Bennet has been painting or sketching every day since he was 4 and does it all under the name Anthony Benedetto. We hope he hangs his own work and tells the installers that it don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing.
