Fall Festival Recap: Treasure Island Music Festival

Treasure Island Music Festival (TIMF) is one of those hidden gem festivals that everyone needs to know about!  I recently had the chance to attend and check out their eclectic mix of music performances. Produced by both Noise Pop and Another Planet Entertainment, the festival celebrated its eleventh year with its spectacular music and Bay Area culture.

This year’s festival played host to over 23,500 total attendees across two days.  It also introduced us to its new location and home for the future — Middle Harbor Shoreline Park (MHSP) — located just minutes west of downtown Oakland, California. The new location continued to provide festival-goers access to one of the most unique festival backdrops in the world, offering panoramic views of the Bay, downtown San Francisco, and the Bay Bridge.

The festival featured mostly hip-hop, electronic, dance and high-energy acts to kick off Day 1 on Saturday. Highlights included headliner A$AP Rocky, Silk City, Mark Ronson and Diplo, Santigold, Pusha T, and Laff Trax featuring Toro y Moi and Nosaj Thing.  Day 2 on Sunday closed out the festival with a more laid-back vibe with a focus on rock and indie performers like Tame Impala.

I love that Treasure Island continues to bring attendees an experience unlike any other!  In addition to star-studded music lineups each year, Treasure Island has provided fans an array of fun activities at the Festival surrounded by an ever-changing, diverse mix of interactive art installations, roaming performers, as well as a variety of food vendors (bringing cuisine from around the Bay Area). All in all, I’d say this year’s TIMF was a complete success… and I’m already looking forward to next year! For more information and to stay up to date on all TIMF news and announcements CLICK HERE!
