Today Was a Good Day: Summertime in the LBC 2018
I recently attended the sold-out Summertime in the LBC concert at The Queen Mary, and I must say – it was one of the most fun concerts I have ever experienced. Headlined by Long Beach native Snoop Dogg, the event brought back old-school soul and hip-hop featuring more than a dozen acts on the “Kickback” and “40 Oz.” stages… including Ice Cube, The Game, Warren G, Ja Rule & Ashanti, The Isley Brothers and Method Man & Redman.
I loved that this festival attracted music lovers of all ages – there were various generations of music fans grooving alongside each other! The highlight of the night was Ice Cube, who started with one of his biggest hits — and a song that reflected how the crowd was feeling — “It Was a Good Day.” Needless to say, I had such a blast seeing these west coast hip-hop heavyweights to take over the city for one night and I can’t wait for the next one.
