6 New Year’s Resolutions Worth Keeping

Come January 1, 2018, we’re all going to re-commit to being a better version of ourselves. Maybe you’ll swear to lose weight, date responsibly, find a new job, or learn a new skill. The New Year’s resolution list can go on and on, and ultimately, most of these self-imposed rules and regulations will fall by the wayside before Valentine’s Day. To avoid feeling like a failure as you stare into a heart-shaped box of mystery chocolates, try and choose excellent, yet attainable resolutions. As you reflect on the whole “new year, new you” thing, here are a few resolutions worth keeping.

6 New Year’s Resolutions Worth Keeping

Stay Positive: Life is better with a smile on your face and a positive attitude. While it’s easy to get bogged down by politics, annoying in-laws, or brutal meetings, finding the sunny side can truly upgrade your circumstances.

Leave Negative Situations Behind: Do you fight with your significant other constantly? Are you in a friendship that leaves you feeling bad about yourself? Do you dread going to work? If there’s a will, there’s a way to leave the negativity in the dust.

Save Money for Something Excellent: With bills to pay, it can be difficult to save up for that adventure you’ve been dreaming about or a major purchase. By changing a few simple habits, like eating out less, making your own coffee, or thrift store shopping instead of paying full price, you may be able to tuck away some savings!

Respect Yourself: When staring in the mirror, it’s easy to be hyper-critical. This year, commit to giving yourself some love and appreciation. You truly deserve it.

Read More: Abandon those TV and movie queues and dig into a good book! Your brain will thank you.

Avoid Feeding the Trolls: Try to limit your smartphone and social media time this year. Go outside and connect with the real world. It’ll be a nice change of pace.
