Complexcon 2017: Celebrating & Shaping Our Culture

I recently got the chance to attend the second annual ComplexCon in Long Beach, California for their annual pop culture event…. and I must say, it was incredible!  The minds behind Complex came together with Pharrell Williams, legendary artist Takashi Murakami, Off-White designer and founder Virgil Abloh, Colette co-founder Sarah Andelman, reggaeton superstar J. Balvin, and actor/activist Jaden Smith for two-days of hip-hop music and culture.  This was a true celebration of street wear, art and hip-hop that introduced some of the year’s hottest styles and music, bringing the world of Complex to life. This was our generation’s world fair – an experience like no other.

There were hundreds of clothing brands and other vendors in attendance including Puma, Human Made, adidas, Neighborhood, Billionaire Boys Club, Colette, Nike, Kimoji, and dozens more.  There were also discussions with creatives and celebrities sharing their knowledge and insight with all things related to hip-hop and culture.  The highlight of the event was seeing the triumphant return of N.E.R.D. with a concert style listening party of their new album “No One Ever Really Dies.”  There were also sets from Gucci Mane, Young Thug, M.I.A., J Balvin, DJ Khaled and Jaden Smith.  Needless to say, ComplexCon was LIT.
