Frank Ocean Rocks FYF Fest and MORE!
It’s safe to say FYF Fest this year was a HIT! The three-day music festival featured fantastic performances from the likes of Björk (who brought the most beautiful symphonic performance to grace an FYF stage), followed by a set of mega-hits from Missy Elliott. But my MVP performance of the weekend came from Frank Ocean. Withe a cameo from Brad Pitt during “Close to You/Never Can Say Goodbye,” he showed that strength, vulnerability and sincerity can keep a festival-sized crowd listening with rapt attention. Frank also performed a cover of Stevie Monite’s 1984 hit “Only You.” The fest closed with a performance by Nine Inch Nails, Solange and Iggy Pop with a swirl of art, aggression and charisma. Needless to say, there was rarely a dull moment across the three days… featuring celebs spotted like Vanessa Hudgens, Noël Wells, Chris Rock, A$AP Rocky and Janet Jackson (to name a few). Although FYF Fest has come and gone, this festival continues to step it up… and I’m already looking forward to next year!
