10 Fashion Tricks You Probably Never Knew

When it comes to your wardrobe, there’s only so many times you can wear something before some kind of fashion disaster happens. Whether it be an oil stain, or getting a funky smell out of your jeans because you didn’t have time to do laundry, there are ways to fix them lickety split!

Take a peek below for 10 fashion hacks to help get you back to looking your best in no time!

1. Remove oil from your shirt with baby powder.

Just sprinkle some on the spot you are cursing and leave overnight. Wake up and see how the oil has magically disappeared!

2. De-funkify your jeans by putting them in the freezer.

Your jeans might be smelling just a little too ripe, but you have no time to do laundry. It’s chill, just throw them in the freezer and let the arctic temps make that funky smell go away for good!

3. Get your white sneaks looking mint again with baking soda, detergent, and a clean toothbrush.

Its sucks when your mint white sneaks start looking like LA smog. Bring them back to life by gently scrubbing a mixture of detergent and baking soda on them with a clean toothbrush.

4. Stop runs in your tights with hairspray.

Tights are one of the more delicate things we put on our bodies and can easily run at the worst time. To prevent a sudden fashion disaster spritz them with hairspray before pulling them on!

5. Use stale bread to remove dirt from suede.

Suede gets dirty so easily and it’s a huge bummer when it happens. Next time you find your favorite suede piece looking a litlte dingey, go in the kitchen and find a piece of stale bread. Rub gently and watch the dirt disappear!

6. Keep your denim dark with distilled vinegar.

Raise your hand if you hate when your dark jeans start to fade from being washed. To stop this annoyance from entering your life, add a half cup of distilled vinegar to the washing machine during the rinse part of the cycle.

7. Find out of jeans are going to fit by wrapping the waistline around your neck.

If you kinda hate trying on clothes at the store and are too lazy to see if a pair of jeans is going to fit, wrap the waistline around your neck. I can’t explain it, but it works.

8. Break in your leather jacket with water.

Breaking in a leather jacket can take months. If you want to speed up the process, just get it wet! I suggest wearing it out next time it rains in your town.

9. Fixed scuffed patent leather with Windex.

It might sound a little weird, but if your patent leather piece is looking tired, scuffed and in need of a little TLC, spray it with a little windex and rub with a paper towel. It will take care of the scuffs and bring back some of its eye catching shine!

10. Stop sweat stains before they happen with lemon juice.

It’s kind of the worst when you have a shirt you love and discover after so many wears you’ve developed some gnarly pit stains. Keep your favorite shirts fresh and discoloration free by spraying them with lemon juice before you throw them in the wash.
