Watch: Vicky-T Drops Video For Solo Debut ‘Protect This Love’

If you were a fan of Cobra Starship, you’re more than familiar with the band’s only female member, Victoria Asher, better known as Vicky-T. Since the group disbanded late last year, the former Cobra keytarist has been working hard in the studio on her yet-to-be-titled debut solo EP, lead by her first single, “Protect This Love.”

The pop-synth track has all the bouncy beats and dance happy sensibilities we love to keep our heads bobbing, while lyrically hitting on the experience of navigating an uncertain relationship.

Debuting the accompanying self-directed video on Bloody Disgusting, Vicky-T broke down the song and video telling the site, “I am super proud of this song and video. The song was inspired by a failing long distance relationship I was in the middle of and the various optimistic and pessimistic emotions I was experiencing every day. The video was inspired by haunting insecurities/past relationship experiences and my desire to kill them off/escape them. This song/video started as being a project that was just for fun and turned a creative venture that means a lot to me. A lot of sweat and tears went into both and I couldn’t be more excited to share with everyone.”

Take the video for a spin above and don’t forget to follow Buzznet on Instagram. Vicky-T is taking over this Friday to share a day in her life…too chill.
