Zayn Malik Drops The Mic And Peaces Out Of One Direction

Nothing lasts forever and in the case of One Direction, Zayn Malik has found there are other avenues to explore. In a statement posted to the boy band’s offical Facebook page Zayn has decided to peace out and, “be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.”

Five years of travel, fame, fans, shows, interviews, photo shoots, videos, and being followed by the papparazzi finally reached its breaking point for Zayn.

“My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I’d like to apologize to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart,” he expressed.

While it’s sad to see Zayn go his own way, remaining members, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, and Harry Styles will continue as a quartet. The four shared their own thoughts on Zayn’s departure shortly after it was announced wishing their friend only the very best.

“We’re really sad to see Zayn go, but we totally
respect his decision and send him all our love for the future. The past five years have been beyond amazing, we’ve gone through so much together, so we will always be friends. The four of us will now continue. We’re looking forward to recording the new album and seeing all the fans on the next stage of the world tour.”

Best of luck to Zayn and finger crossed he pulls a Kevin Richardson and rejoins the group on a future album.
