Album Review: Vacationer’s Relief

Today I got the opportunity to listen to Vacationer‘s new album Relief and I was totally blown away. The Nu-Hula group from Philadelphia, PA consists of Kenny Vasoli (who you may know from The Starting Line), Matthew Young, Ryan Zimmaro, Michael Mullin, and Greg Altman. After releasing their first amazing album Gone in 2012, they have spent the past two years touring and composing their new album and the time gap was totally worth it.

Relief has a dreamy, good vibes sound that has influences from other amazing artists but at the same time creates such a unique sound you can’t compare to anything else. When listening to the album I was reminded of Sublime, The Zodiacs, and many more. It also had many blues and soul music melodies to it. I truly enjoyed the whole album but i narrowed down my top three favorite songs.

The Wild Life: This is their big single off the album and for good reason. This is the perfect Summer song, whether your listening to it sipping out of a coconut on the beach or in the winter wishing for summer again. The beat is so uplifiting you can help but want to move and the lyrics and awesome vocals compliment it perfectly.

Stay: This song totally made me feel like I time traveled back to the 50’s and I loved it! it has such a smooth melody and the vocals are amazing. It’s perfect to listen to after a long stressful day.

Parallels: This is deffenitly one of the most unique songs on the album. It’s so dynamic and has a lot of different layers to it that you can listen to it over and over again and never get bored of it. Definitely one of the top songs on the album.

Relief is on sale now so be sure to get a copy and catch Vacationer on one of their tour dates listed below!
