Brandi Cyrus Talks About Her Love of ‘Needtobreathe’ Sponsored By GapStyld.by

Needtobreathe has been a favorite band of mine for a while now. I was so excited to see that they are part of the Gap Styld.by campaign! Their music creates the perfect soundtrack for exactly what this campaign stands for – freely expressing yourself. I’m a sucker for some good alternative rock. In a musical world full of synths, vocal stacks, and computer made instruments….it’s a breath of fresh air to listen to music like Needtobreathe.

You gotta give these guys credit — they’ve succeeded without conforming to any kind of molded “formula” for success, and I love seeing a band with a “Christian” label on secular charts and mainstream radio. A lot of people might not even realize that they ARE a Christian rock band, and that’s what I like the most about their music. Their lyrics are inspiring and uplifting and no matter what you believe or don’t believe, all human beings connect with music that comes from a spiritual place. All of their records are great, and most of them I can listen to all the way through without skipping around, which isn’t so easy to come across anymore. (That’s the true test for me if a record is great — can I listen to it all the way through all the time and not get tired of it?) My favorite though I think, is ‘The Outsiders’ specifically “Something Beautiful” on that record.

If you haven’t seen them live, you’re totally missing out! They put on an incredible show, which I also think is so important for a band – to be able to translate live what you can record in a studio.
