Lorde Spills Her Rebel Beauty Routine

OMG I love Lorde so much. Looking back on my teen years I wish I had been as cool as her with the kind of confidence it takes to sing in front of thousands!

Her goth/grunge look makes her a stand out and with songs from her massively successful album Pure Heroine still clogging radio airways, it’s no wonder she’s teamed up with MAC cosmetics to launch her own signature lipstick…Pure Heroine…lolzzz.

When NYLON magazine caught up with alternative teen idol, she spilled on all the things that keep her looking perfectly disheveld for the spotlight.

How her hair always looks perfect

“I just have a curl product that’s really hippie that I scrunch in when it’s wetand just leave to dry. It lasts until I wash it. My hair is good when it’s really gross. Just don’t smell it or touch it.”

How she found the perfect dark lip color

“I’ve been wearing a version of this [dark lip color] for two plus years, I reckon. Before that, I wore bright orange. Then all of a sudden I was really into the dark look and wore really strong matte finishes for awhile, then moved to lighter stainsand then found a bit of an in-between.”

Her other make-up essentials

“Most of the time I’ll have a really thin liquid liner. My makeup artist and I try to keep my skin really dewy and fresh so we have these kind of shiny highlighters that we use.”
