Thankful Challenge Day #5: Thanking Yourselfie
Today’s challenge is a little weird. That’s okay, though, because we’re all a little weird here. Earlier today, I was reading what Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend said about the word “selfie” being Oxford Dictionaires Word of the Year:
Koenig is firmly in favor of selfies. “I’m definitely pro-selfie,” he says. “I think that anybody who’s anti-selfie is really just a hater. Because, truthfully, why shouldn’t people take pictures of themselves? When I’m on Instagram and I see that somebody took a picture of themselves, I’m like, ‘Thank you.’ I don’t need to see a picture of the sky, the trees, plants. There’s only one you.” – Source
Vampire Weekend by 8BitGlitch I feel like I agree with Mr. Koenig. You are a very special snowflake! Don’t ever let anyone tell you anything different. That doesn’t mean that I want to see you doing your best #selfiesatfunerals
🙁 I do, however, for the purpose of today’s challenge, want you to talk about something you like about yourselfie. For me, I think that I am the person that my two friends come to if they ever need someone to listen to them. I am pretty good at listening. Sure, I might make fun of my friends and call them out on their b.s but that’s what I do. I don’t sugar coat things, either. I’m like a slap in the face with a kitten paw. What I’m saying is that I like that I am a good listener and that I am frank (even though my name is Rich).
