The Ultimate Fashion Week Roundup

New York Fashion Week is almost over and we oficially know what the hottest trends are. It looks like next Spring is going to be all about black and white, which has been a dominant trend already this season. Minimalism is still going strong. There’s also a heavy dose of femininity: defined waists, pastels, flowy fabris, knee length hems.

Designers are sticking with what works, showing lots of crop tops, cutouts and sheer. However, they are getting a little experimental, expanding on those trends (think: sheer pants). On the other hand, nostalgia has been popping up on the runways too, with lots of 50s, 70s and 90s throwbacks.

If you want to be on trend next season, a little white dress in a figure flattering cut is a safe bet. Also stock up on ladylike skirts in pencil and circle silhouettes. Invest in a chic, feminine jacket. When it comes to shoes, look for fashionable sneakers. This isn’t your trusty Chucks, look for running shoes with a design aesthetic. To punctuate all the black and white, look for icy metallics and happy, fun (but not too loud) brights.
