Get To Know: Davina Leone
I know you guys are big music fans and I think you will enjoy this lovely lady that I came across, here name is Davina Leone. Davina started off by posting Youtube covers of her favorite songs and now is making her own music. Her band opened up for One Republic and she just released her first single “Up All Night”!

When did you first realize you had a passion for singing?
I think I was about seven years old, and I remember that every time my friends and I had play dates we would end up singing with my karaoke machine. Every day I’d spend hours in my room singing anything from broadway tunes to Kelly Clarkson and dance in front of my mirror pretending I was onstage. I knew I loved to do it.
What has been the most challenging part of your job?
Being a twenty year old girl with a career is extremely challenging! Most people my age are in school and when I tell them I have to miss parties or hang outs to record or do covers they don’t really understand it. I kind of have a double life sometimes! One side of me is a twenty year old girl who has fun with friends and the other side is a working professional. Trying to keep the two worlds balanced is the biggest challenge. Now I know how Hannah Montana felt. I totally feel like Hannah Montana!
Tell us about Defeat the Label and your passion for anti-bullying.
I was badly bullied throughout middle and high school mostly for being a singer, and knew that one day I wanted to make a positive impact with the things I’ve learned going through it. I saw that Defeat the Label was all about being yourself and building self esteem so I knew I wanted to be a part of that. I was ecstatic when they approached me about becoming their celebrity ambassador because it’s exactly what I’m about!
What is the best advice you can give someone who is trying to follow in your footsteps?
Don’t be afraid to do what you love. If you follow your heart, those who matter will follow you too.
If you could put together your dream tour, who would be the lineup?
John Mayer, Demi Lovato, and the MuteMath! I don’t know how that combination would turn out but they’re my favorites!
What are your guilty pleasures and do you have any hidden talents?
My guilty pleasures are reality TV shows. I’m a sucker for Extreme Weight Loss and Millionaire Matchmaker! As for hidden talents, I’ve trained my cat to answer when I call her…that counts right?
What music are you listening to right now?
I’m loving Lorde’s EP and also a lot of One Direction. “Heart Attack” is stuck in my head right now!
Do you have any fan moments that stand out to you the most?
I remember one fan messaged me on Twitter saying that my music and the messages I promoted saved her life and helped her believe in herself. It really made an impact on me because that was the moment I thought “wow, I can really help people”.
What is your favorite city or country to perform in?
Los Angeles! Maine was also a super fun performance recently.

I love you guys more than words can say! You are my best friends and my inspiration. I see all of your kind words and am forever grateful. I’m so happy we’re all on this journey together
