We LOVE covers, and Jay Stolar has taken on Robin Thicke‘s latest hit, “Blurred Lines.” Take a look at the video and why Jay told us he wanted to cover one of this summer’s biggest hits.

“What I love about “Blurred Lines” is the spontaneity of the song, the vocal harmonies, and the heavy influence of Marvin Gaye’s “Got to Give It Up.” The song is fun, exciting, and at it’s core a 70’s soul song. From the first time I heard it, I loved it and knew we had to do something interesting with it.”

He went on to say, “The inspiration for the all keyboard and vocal cover was to take on the challenge of maintaining the soulfulness of the song using digital instruments. My entire album uses organic instruments so we wanted to have fun and try to capture a soul song using only keyboards, stock keyboard drums and vocals. Putting 5 keyboards in a circle… Now that was just a guilty pleasure for my keyboard player and production partner Jason Wexler. “

If you like what you hear, but sure to keep an eye out for Jay’s debut album, More Than We Think on October 8th. Be sure to check his official site for all the latest news and music.
