5 Reasons You Should Be Listening To Barely Blind

I’m always here to recommend some bands for y’all to get into, and today it’s all about Barely Blind. These guys have been active for 10 years and are perfectly ripe for a label to come by and pick them off the unsigned bands tree. From their first release back in 2007 to now, BB has fine-tuned their sound and have uncovered that makes them unique. Honestly if I had a label I would sang these fellas up! #musicrules.

Here are just five reasons why you should be listening to, Barely Blind.

1. For the most part their music puts me in a GREAT mood. The kind where you want to run around and jump in a pool with your friends!

Especially the tracks off their 2011 LP, Wilder Child of a Thousand Suns.

2. The song, “Inner Child” is insanely catchy! Basically it will set up camp in your brain for days and hang out. Also the music video is filled with great performance shots and confetti.

3. Brad Cuccio‘s voice. He has a distinct voice that stands out and sticks with you the same way Nate Ruess’ does. Also, sounds lovely mixed with the band’s guitarist Stephen Salisbury’s voice.

Case and point in this acoustic video for, “Can’t Expect.”

4. LIVE! Now I have never seen them live first hand, but my buddy Drew Beringer at Absolute Punk says they are a real treat.

More specifically he said, “If you think Barely Blind sounds great on record, wait till you see them live. The Texas quartet’s live show is full of energy and the band’s groove is so immense you’ll be dancing on the floor in no time.”

Now that’s what I like to hear!

5. NEW MUSIC! I heard a new song they wrote recently — and it’s fantastic! The song is called, “Golden Child” and it was produced by Pierre De Reeder. This guy has worked with everyone including Death Cab for Cutie and Vampire Weekend. I am listening to it right now and I wish I could just embed it in this post; but you will all just have to be patient. BB is also working on a music video for the song and its looks adorable from these Instagram photos.

BONUS* This has nothing to do with their music, but they have super sweet merch. I am obessed with these t-shirts and need to get my hands on one if they still exist!

So give BB a listen and let me know what you think! Keep an eye out for opporutnities to see them live and definetly tell all your friends about these guys.
