Deadly Viruses Recreated Out Of Blown Glass

It’s hard to wrap my head around the idea of creating beautiful objects from deadly infectious diseases, but somehow British artist Luke Jerram pulled it off. He creates stunning glass sculptures that represent a variety of viruses, such as Smallpox, Malaria, E-Coli and HIV…to name a few. Jerram calls these glass-blown sculptures Glass Microbiology and hopes to encourage viewers to contemplate the global impact of each disease. Seen blown up to one million times their original size, these creations show the haunting diseases rarely seen in such exquisite form. I must say, I find it incredibly beautiful.
