A controversial fashion topic that is sure to heat up along with the weather is formal shorts. What’s the big deal about shorts on the red carpet? If you’ve got the legs to pull it off, by all means, do! It’s certainly a refreshing change from the super short and tight minis that everyone else is wearing.
From short suits like Victoria Justice‘s, to leather shorts like Ashlee Simpson sports, there are a myriad of different ways to work this usually casual wardrobe item into a dressed-up look. Admittedly, shorts take some styling to avoid looking ridiculous in formal situations. However, with the right pair of heels, a sharp– preferably coordinating– top, and perfect tailoring, a pair of shorts can fit right in amongst a sea of cocktail dresses.
