Three For Free – Emerging Talent Edition: Jamie N Commons, Misty Miller and AlunaGeorge

It’s Emerging Talent Month on Buzznet which means even more music, fashion, art and entertainment to discover than usual. So far, March has brought us plenty of potential new favourites, but it’s also breaking our banks. The more bands we discover, the more money we spend on music, tickets and merch etc – the list goes on.

So, if you’re feeling the pinch, here’s three free songs* from some more ‘Emerging Talents‘. Check ’em out!

*Tickets and merch not included.

Jamie N Commons

Hotly tipped as one of “The Ones To Watch” for 2012, blues singer Jamie N Commons didn’t make the impact we expected last year. Those who heard his distinctive whiskey-and-cigarettes vocals fell in love, but his songs ‘failed’ to hit the mainstream airwaves. Since then, he’s signed to producer Alex Da Kid‘s Interscope imprint KIDinaKORNER and is rumoured to be featured on Eminem‘s new single. Perhaps, Commons will get the break he deserves after all.

Misty Miller

Misty Miller may be only 18, but she’s certainly no novice. She begun writing music at the tender age of eight and recorded her debut album at just 15. Whilst most teen stars are products of pop factories, Miller has emerged as a truly unique musician who cites the likes of Patti Smith, The Velvet Underground and Lou Reed as her influences. Miller’s not stuck in the past though. Her support slots with fellow emerging artists Tom Odell and Jake Bugg prove that she’ll succeed in the modern world of music.

AlunaGeorge

Shortlisted for the BRIT’s Critic Choice Award, AlunaGeorge missed out on the nod to Tom Odell. They were also tipped by the BBC for their Sound of 2013 poll before second place behind HAIM. Although AlunaGeorge may be in the shadows of some of their peers, they’re also far further into the spotlight than most artists are before the release of an album. The pressure to live up the hype will be immense, even if they’re ‘only‘ the second most hyped artist around.

If you sign up to their mailing list, you can download two AlunaGeorge songs and their remix of Lana Del Rey‘s ‘Born To Die‘.
