Emerging Talent: Bo Bruce

When Bo Bruce reached the final of Channel 4’s TV talent show Orange UnsignedAct in 2008, many expected her to be the ‘next big thing‘ (or at least I did). Sadly, the release of her ‘Search The Night EP‘ slipped under the radar, despite beautiful and captivating songs such as ‘Fighting Arizona‘. It was only when she dared to return to reality TV that it entered the iTunes chart at number 2.

In 2012, she appeared on the UK edition of The Voice but narrowly missed out on claiming the prize once again. However, she’s likely to be the true winner from last year’s cohort. She might just be the most successful ‘loser’ a talent show has ever seen (…..although she’ll probably never match the chart dominance of One Direction).

Thanks to the recent backing of Mercury Records and the Snow Patrol founded Polar Patrol Publishing, Bo Bruce may finally see the success she deserves. Her debut album ‘Before I Sleep‘ is due out in April and will (hopefully) be a critical and commercial ‘success’. If it doesn’t, she could always audition for The X Factor next year. Third time’s the charm, right?

Bo Bruce’s debut single, ‘Save Me‘ is out April 29th. You can watch its video below.
