Misha Nonoo NYFW 2013

The Misha Nonoo FW 2013 collection was presented atop The High Line by The Standard in downtown Manhattan. Inspired by the NY-based designer’s recent trip to Moscow, Nonoo’s designs were both romantic and sharp in their architecture. The models stood in a straight line, resembling high-fashion Russian dolls, decked in stately countryside ensembles that fused together Russian romanticism and British tailoring.

The palette was mostly, and fittingly, dipped in rich red hues, with touches of navy, black, gray, and cream. Pieces included tailored slacks, sweet lace detailing, and cozy knits. In a quirky cultural twist, the models wore furry shapka hats and military badges.

Aside from the fashion presentation itself, the designer also offered her guests a hot tea bar, which was guarded by a stoic Russian guard in head-to-toe military gear.
