Get To Know: JJAMZ

It has happened again, you guys! I’ve discovered a great new band that I think you’ll like! I was browsing through Forever 21 today and they were bumping this. It was love at first listen!

JJAMZ (pronounced juh-jamz) is an indie/pop band from Los Angeles, CA composed of musicians from already established bands: James Valentine (Maroon 5), Jason Boesel (Rilo Kiley/Bright Eyes), Alex Greenwald (Phantom Planet) and Z Berg (The Like).

JJAMZ came together in 2008 at a group hang session at a karaoke bar in Hollywood. They shared the same strife of the obligations of their main bands, so they decided to take matters into their own hands and band together. This union offered them a chance for them to approach music-making with a new perspective. The band name is an acronym using the first letter of each member’s name.

JJAMZ released their debut album, Suicide Pact, this past July. Check it out here.
