Get To Know: Imagine Dragons

There’s been a band on my radar for quite some time now that I’ve been wanting to share with you guys. It took me a while to finally sit down and listen to their album all the way through, but once I did, I was smitten. That band is Imagine Dragons.

Imagine Dragons are a four piece indie/rock band hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada. Their band name is an anagram, though the original word(s) for which are unknown except to the members of the band. They released three EPs titled Imagine Dragons, Hell and Silence and It’s Time in 2010before they signed a record deal with Interscope Records in 2011. This past March they released their Continued Silence EP which peaked at #40 on the Billboard 200. Their music video for their first single, “It’s Time,” was nominated for an MTV Video Music Award in 2012 for “Best Rock Video.” “It’s Time” was even covered on the FOX hit Glee by Darren Criss. Their song “On Top Of The World” is the theme song to the new CBS sitcom, Partners starring Sophia Bush!

Imagine Dragons released their debut album, Night Visions, this past September to rave reviews. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with first week sales in excess of 83,000 copies!

Night Visions is available here.
