Flashback Friday: 5 Most Hair-Raising Ghost Movies

It’s easy to not be as afraid of zombies, vampires, werewolves and masked murderers – after all, in movies, they’re the ones who lose out in the end and eventually meet their demise. But ghosts… that’s a different story! Ghosts have a way of lurking around and causing havoc, leaving you unable to get rid of them. The ghostly movie Paranormal Activity 4 hits theaters today, and just when you thought the ghost was gone, you are sadly mistaken! In honor of the fourth installment of the spooky flick, here are 5 most hair-raising ghost movies:

The Others (2001)

Nicole Kidman stars in this spooky movie about a mother and her photosensitive children who move into a house in the remote country that turns out to be haunted. Eek!

Paranormal Activity (2007)

You have to have the original on here of course! Presented in the style of home footage, the movie centers on young couple Micah and Katie who are haunted by a presence in their home. They set up cameras to see what’s been haunting them and the result is VERY disturbing!

Amityville Horror (2005)

Based on the true story, this 1979 remake stars Ryan Reynolds as a father whose family moves into their dream home, only to find out the house is a REAL nightmare!

The Orphanage (2007)

This 2007 Spanish horror flick is super scary for not being gory – and also really sad. It was directed by Guillermo del Toro, so you just know it’s a spooky one!

Stir of Echoes (1999)

Loosely based on the novel The Stir of Echoes by Richard Matheson, this movie stars Kevin Bacon as a dad whose son has the ability to communicate with the dead. Kevin’s character gets hypnotized at a party and ends up experiencing visions. Creepy!
