WATCH New Music Videos From Phillip Phillips, Kindness, Freelance Whales and More

If you’ve been too busy glued to your TV watching the Olympics, you’ve probably missed out on some of this week’s hottest music video premieres. Team GB offered up some melancholic vibes from indie rockers Futures and some bubblegum beats from X Factor’s Amelia Lily, while Team USA’s big names with new sounds included Carrie Underwood and Pitbull.

Phew, it’s certainly been a busy week for both music and sport. Here are three of the recently premiered music videos picked to step on the podium for your viewing/listening pleasure.

Who wins gold? You decide. Just make sure you leave a comment below.

Phillip Phillips

Several months have passed since Phillip Phillips became the latest champion of American Idol, but his winner’s single has only just been given an official music video (perhaps thanks to a boost in Olympics-themed airplay). Unlike usual ‘winner’s single’ dross, it’s not sickly sweet enough to make you stick two fingers down your throat.

Kindness

Being kind won’t get you an Olympic medal but the band named after the trait are here to prove that you don’t have to be cruel to be a deserving winner. However in order to strike gold, there will have to be some trouble involved – in the form of Trouble Funk of course.

Freelance Whales

If you thought the moniker “Phillip Phillips” was mildly amusing or that being titled after a trait was questionable, think again because this band take naming to a new level of odd. As for their music? That’s equally unique, but in a good way. You can watch the visualizer for their latest single ‘Locked Out’ below before contrasting it with its newer video premiered by Paste magazine here.
