Katy Perry: ‘I’m Not Going To Be Everything To Everyone’

It’s been quite a rollercoaster year for Katy Perry: amidst all her success in her career, she had a very public, heartbreaking split with husband Russell Brand. Despite those hard times, Katy has managed to keep her game face on and even exposed her vulnerable side in her movie Part of Me 3D. Even with her sometimes- cheeky lyrics, the inspirational songstress has been considered a role model for many of her fans. That must put a lot of pressure on Katy, whose fanbase also includes younger girls. How does Katy feel about that?

In a cover feature with Elle magazine, here’s what Katy had to say about being a role model:

“I have no regrets…I’m not going to be everything to everyone. I can’t tell a person when it’s time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette…But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message.”

Do you think celebrities have a responsibility to be a role model or should they not care?
