Buzznet Exclusive: Lauren Berger’s High School Memories

Hey guys,

Summer was fun but all good things must come to an end and thanks to school summer will do just that. Be excited, it is time to turn a new page and make new friends! In honor of Back To School season I have answered a few questions about MY high school memories and even attached a few photos!

enjoy!

Was the first day of High School as scary for you as “they” make it seem?

I remember being very concerned with two things on my first day of High School: Getting lost in the hallways, and my outfit! I remember that I almost didn’t join the dance team (I was a dancer when I was younger) because I wasn’t sure if it was “cool”. Becoming a Countryside Cougarette was the best thing I ever did in high school. Do what your heart tells you – not what people say is cool.

Did you have a favorite class? Least Favorite?

My favorite class was probably english/creative writing and my least favorite was probably math/statistics (which was funny and unfortunate because my mom is a math teacher and was friends with my teacher)

Any special memories from school Dances/ Prom/ Homecoming etc? Did you attend them?

I went to homecoming all four years and prom my Junior and Senior year. I remember going to homecoming single with a group of girlfriends my Freshman year. My Junior and Senior year I was on the prom court which was fun – but I never won!

What is the best advice you can give about these kids starting freshman year of High School this fall?

High School was one of the best parts of my life. I learned who my real friends were and so much about the person I wanted to be. The important thing to remember is to be yourself , no matter what “clique” you fall in. Be yourself, be nice to everyone, and treat everyone with respect. Spend your time with the people that matter, the people that will be your friend in 20 years no matter what your job is or how much money you make. Also, get involved. The learning experiences in High School are huge! Decide on at least 2-3 extra-curricular activities and stick to them. You will meet new people, accomplish goals, and have great stuff for your resume!
