Artist Spotlight: Matthew Koma

Time for another round of Artist Spotlight!

Matthew Komais a name you might be familiar with from his appearance onFar East Movement’s song, “Ain’t Coming Down” — as well as some other pop-tastic tracks. Now Matt is out on his own with a new EP! Matthew’s voice is like butter and his choruses are incredibly catchy! I suggest taking a listen to his new EP below! How would you describe your sound?

This is always an impossible question to answer!!! By the time you read my answer, you can check out one of my songs and put it in a box of your choice.

What kind of music is your guilty pleasure?

Christmas music.

Who are some fellow artists you look up to?

Really dig what First Aid Kit is doing. They made an amazing record and write beautiful songs.

Who would you say is your female musical equivalent?

The girl who sings on Spectrum w Zedd.

Your EP came out this past May, are you working on new material and where can fans catch you live?

I’m about to hit the road with Owl City for a bunch of dates and I’m working on a ton of new music. My guys Twice As Nice just moved to the states from Australia and we’ve been doing a bunch of stuff together.

What was the last album you bought?

I re-bought Superdrag – Regretfully Yours

What inspires you?

Goldfish. The food.
