Warped Tour 2012: Count Me In

The past two days checking out the Vans Warped Tour have been incredible. We had an amazing crew working the press area for the Irvine and Pomona dates to get lots of interviews with your favorite bands – and to also have a little fun! The Irvine date was non-stop interviews form me for about 4 hours, that is a lot of chatting. I got to talk to All Time Low, New Found Glory, Every Time I Die, Breathe Carolina and many more. Everyone on the tour seems to be having a great summer and have been enjoying seeing their fans come out to the festival each day.

When I sat down with Alex Gaskarth and Jack Barakat they gave me some info on their new record and also what it takes to date someone in ATL, so keep an eye out for that interview coming soon! After we wrapped up with press I caught a few acts that I really love including New Found Glory and The Used. I was able to watch The Used from on stage, (more on that in another post) and New Found Glory’s set was high energy! Chad Gilbert made a point of saying how the Warped Tour has been a huge part of NFG’s career, but also a huge part of their lives as fans when they attended the festival as fans. I have been to a few different festivals in the past few months but Warped Tour really does feel like a family. There is a lot of tradition and history to the tour, but it’s also very welcoming. You don’t feel like you have to dress a certain way or look a certain way — the tour is about coming together and enjoying new ideas, discovering new bands and making new friends. Warped has been in my life for 10 years now and it was exciting to seen young kids experiencing their first day — I sure remember mine.

Yesterday was another morning filled with interviews with We Are The In Crowd, more with ATL, Sleeping With Sirens and Travis Clark of We The Kings. So excited for you all to see these interviews! Afterwards I caught NFG (again), ATL (for the first time), Taking Back Sunday, and Of Mice & Men. The crowd for Of Mice & Men was enormous and the crowd for ATL was wild to say the least. Everyone put on a great set and it was fun to see so many kids enjoying their day. Check out this video I took on my phone of ATL, these kids go nuts at the chours!

There is a lot more I want to check out Sunday at the Ventura date — that will be a day strictly spent checking out bands. Hope everyone that has been to Warped so far had a good time and for those who have not been yet, you have a lot to look forward to! #musicruls.
