Chanel Makes A Pretty Book About The Little Black Jacket, Pretty People Celebrate

If there was some sort of magical fashion dictionary, and you flipped to the page for the entry “Iconic”, I’m prettttty sure Chanel would be the first word there. The French fashion house has been responsible for plenty of plenty of iconic items that are now basic to our fashion vocabulary, including the quilted bag and Little Black Dress. The subject of Karl Lagerfeld‘s newest books is one of Chanel’s most iconic pieces: the Little Black Jacket. To celebrate the simple but impactful item, the creative director assembled some of his favorite well-known ladies, including Dakota Fanning, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Elizabeth Olsen (amongst other notable models, actresses, and it-girls) and had them sit for portraits in all variation of Chanel’s Little Black Jackets. Click HERE to see Chanel’s video about the making of the Little Black Jacket, and check out a sneak peek of some of the portraits in this gallery.

The book isn’t out until later this year, but an exhibition of the portraits opened in NYC on June 6th, and tons of fashion’s heavy-hitters came out to celebrate.

See what they wore (many LBJs, of course) in the gallery, and comment on your favorite looks!
