Look East: Los Angeles’ First Korean Film Festival

From taekwondo to Korean BBQ to K-pop, Korean culture has most definitely assimilated into our American pop culture, especially in the melting pot that is Los Angeles. Highlighting its cultural and entertainment diversity, Hollywood will be showing their appreciation with the first Look East: Korean Film Festival, a celebratory weekend taking place Saturday, June 23rd and Sunday, June 24th.

For the first time in its 85-year history, Korean performers will be casting their hand and footprints at the front of the iconic Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood on June 23rd. Noted celebrities include: Korean actor Byung-hun Lee, who recently appeared in G.I. Joe: The Rise of the Cobra and will be seen in this summer’s G.I. Joe: The Retaliation; veteran Korean star Sung-ki Ahn, one of the most respected actors in Asia; and international film expert Pierre Rissient, who has long championed Korean cinema.
