Bamboozle Day 2: In The Middle Of The Ride

I am right in the thick of Bamboozle and yesterday was non-stop adventures and live music. The day kicked off with a trip backstage to The Maine‘s tour bus for and interview with the sweet Pat Krich. When we were welcomed on the bus, the entire band was working on hand written thank you note for their street team; what sweethearts.

For tunes that day I caught a majority of the main stage acts; The Maine, Never Shout Never, All-American Rejects, and then into Jimmy Eat World. Jimmy Eat World is a band I have followed since I was in high school and seeing them live with my Chucks in the sand was just amazing. When opening of “Sweetness” rang out the entire crowd participated knowing our parts perfectly. One of the best moments of the day was while waiting for an elevator near the media area I happened to spot Jim Adkins and HAD to introduce myself. We had a short conversation about our mutual excitement about the set and then he went on his way. Always lovely when you meet someone you admire and they are just what you hope they will be.

Later in the day I did an interview with Christofer Drew of Never Shout Never in the sunshine to talk about all his side projects and what he has been up to recently. I have met Chris a few times but I have never seen him as happy as he was yesterday. He attributes his new raw diet to his increase in energy and said he is feeling better than ever. He even kissed my hand when the interview was over to thank me for chatting with him. What a pal.

Foo Fighters took the main stage last and were mesmerizing. I think even if you were not a Foo Fighters fan, they probably won you over with their stage presence and palpable passion for what they did. They did all the hits and when “Hero” came on it might have been the loudest I have sang all weekend.

To top it all off I went to an after party show at The Stone Pony near the festival to see Brand New! I had heard about the show but was unable to get a ticket so this was a complete score. They did an hour and a half set starting with songs off their most recent album and then working back to the Your Favorite Weapon. RAD!

Overall it was one of the best days I have ever had at a music festival. Between the interviews, the live music and the surprise of seeing Brand New, I am not sure today can top it; but I will sure try! #musicrules.
