NYX Cosmetics Collaborates With Imitation For Fall 2012 New York Fashion Week

For you gals who love affordable yet wearable makeup, you’re in for a treat. The most talked about makeup line (and used by many Youtube gurus), NYX Cosmetics, debuted their makeup line on Sunday during New York Fashion Week.

The Los Angeles based company became the official makeup sponsor for the Fall Ready-to-Wear 2012 lineup of Imitation of Christ. New York Makeup Artist for NYX Cosmetics, Tina Turnbow incorporated the inexpensive line in the collection to reveal designer Tara Subkoff’s inspirations: YSL, Helmut Newton, and Debbie Harry.

In line with Tara Subkoff’s costumey yet 70s theme collection, makeup artist Tina Turnbow wanted to “create a look by NYX Cosmetics that was bold, yet distinctly feminine.” Filled with dramatic winged-eye makeup and hot red matte lips, Tina Turnbow was able to create a look that was both trendy yet vibrant on the runway presentation. “I used a mixture of rust and grape colors that melded together for a unique finish and then blurred the edges for a modern 70s feel,” claimed the New York makeup artist.

As for designer Tara Subkoff, she was equally excited to collaborate with the growing makeup company. “I was thrilled to be able to partner with NYX Cosmetics to create the makeup look for my fall 2012 collection. This is one of the best makeup lines and their diversity and color range made them an ideal partner because there was so much room to collaborate and create the perfect look for the show.” Well said, Tara.

While it would have been great for all of us to be at the show to experience the looks live, you can still enjoy and create your own looks with the actual makeup line. Purchase online or find out where you can buy the affordable, wide-ranged makeup here.
